Job Description
Play critical role in Data Strategy & Advanced Analytics team. Design & development of compelling visualizations, analyzing & reporting on sales & marketing info, enabling data-driven decision making, including sales tracking, trend evaluation, & market analysis. Translate business questions into timely & accurate technical solutions using in-depth understanding of BioMarin's customers, business models, products, & KPIs, supporting team efforts to align to single source of truth across functions. Gathering requirements & providing analytical support along with end user training. Collaborate internally & external business partners to ensure alignment with data identification, metrics, visualization & democratizing, & project objectives.
* Lead reporting & analytics initiatives aligned strategically to vision and roadmap based on needs * Deploy tools & resources to improve understanding of market & drive goals, including dashboard, SFE reporting, & brand analytics to identify risks timely * Map initiatives to objectives, data sources & KPIs, ensuring consistent usage & aligned visuals * Lead ongoing development & enhancement of reporting suite, including data validation, data integrity, data profiling, data auditing, & data gap analyses * Collaborate with IT, aligning data resources for both compliant strategic & operational use * Evaluate new analytics methodologies to continually improve reach & scale of commercial analytics * Develop new data structures to support innovative analytics using new data products or combination of products * Provide systems requirements for reporting needs to systems developers to ensure data is available for reporting * Collaborate with offshore resources in building reports, including reviewing & providing feedback of offshore resources' work * Ensure reports & underlying data sets are accurate, & troubleshoot any issues with appropriate contacts (e.g. CFIT, FP&A, field ops, external partners) * Produce high quality, training materials, data dictionary & other supporting documentation to enhance data literacy, quality assurance, & process definition * Design & construct dashboards & reporting of brand analytics (e.g. market share) in support of aligned reporting, collaborating with Commercial IT, Digital, other internal stakeholders, & vendors on data infrastructure & delivery (e.g. data, platforms & processes) * Develop & manage project objectives, deliverables & timelines * Perform ad hoc analytics as needed to support priority projects
Requirements: Bachelor's degree or equivalent (Masters preferred). 5 to 7 years of business analytics experience. 3 years of experience with healthcare analytics, data sources & tools (e.g. R, Python, SQL) in biotech or pharmaceutical industry (preferred). Experience with tabular models & SQL Server. Strong experience in design & development of compelling visualizations using applications e.g. Microsoft Power BI & Tableau. Experience integrating data from core Sales & Marketing platforms. Excellent analytical, project mgmt & communication skills (written & verbal) are essential. Exceptional analytical & problem-solving skills. Detail-oriented. Familiarity w/ Data Warehouse & BI environments. Strong written & oral communication. Able to prepare & present data in visually appealing & easy to understand manner. Ability to connect, integrate & synthesize analysis & data into meaningful 'so what' to drive concrete strategic recommendations. Capable of describing relevant caveats in data or in model & how they relate to business question. Self-starter who brings positive solution-oriented approach to challenges. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines

In the U.S, the salary range for this position is $ null to $ null per hour. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity, and may also vary depending on candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience amongst other factors. The salary range for this position is: $null to $null. BioMarin considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans.
