Job Summary:

The Aggregate Safety and Training Coordinator is responsible for but not limited to developing, implementing, and overseeing safety and training programs to ensure a safe and compliant work environment for plant personnel, maintenance personnel, sub-contractors, and visitors. This role involves conducting safety audits, identifying potential hazards, and providing training to employees on safety protocols and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:



    • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in line with company and MSHA regulatory standards.
    • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of plants and job sites to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
    • Identify potential hazards and recommend preventative measures.
    • Create and maintain records of safety training activities, incidents, and compliance.
    • Conduct safety training sessions, workshops, and seminars for employees.
    • Provide guidance and advice on safety procedures and regulations to management and staff.
    • Investigate health and safety incidents and follow up with corrective actions.
    • Stay updated on changes in safety regulations and update training materials accordingly.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of emergency procedures.
    • Promote a strong safety culture within the organization.
    • Communicate all findings with regional safety leaders.
    • Communicate with aggregate management staff.


    Minimum Qualifications:



    • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
    • Minimum 5 years' experience in management of health and safety programs for construction industry, a regulatory government agency or similar organization or significant operational experience with strong safety focus/record.
    • Must possess a valid state driver's license and have an acceptable driving record.


    Preferred Qualifications:



    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in mine/MSHA and safety.
    • Experience operating Loaders, dozers, haul trucks, other common mine equipment.
    • Strong understanding of MSHA safety regulations and best practices.
    • Excellent training and communication skills.
    • Ability to conduct thorough safety audits and inspections.
    • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff.
    • Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.
    • MSHA/Training safety certifications a plus.


    Other Requirements:



    • Experience in developing and delivering training programs.
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
    • Ability to drive on construction job sites and walk on rough terrain as required.
