Job Summary
This position will support the Controller's Office team by performing a variety of accounting and clerical assignments.
Essential Job Duties
- Prepare and record journal entries in Oracle to record or reclassify related account transactions.
- Post transactions in Oracle, including cost transfers, manual usage entries, and budgets.
- Prepare reports for financial services management and Advancement and Alumni Relations.
- Scan and save various types of documents into RADR, the document repository, according to set conventions.
- Perform research in order to assist with review, reporting, responding to inquiries and problem solving.
- Perform miscellaneous clerical assignments, such as file management and validating data.
- Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
- High school degree or equivalent, and a minimum of 1 year of related experience.
- Experience with MS Office programs, Outlook, Word, and Excel, and an understanding of accounting systems.
- Ability to carry out instructions received in either verbal or written form.
- Ability to learn and apply available tools and procedures.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and focus on accuracy and completeness of work.
- Excellent organizational and follow up skills, oral and written communication skills, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Flexibility in dealing with changes in approach and/or deliverables.
- Ability to work independently, to set priorities among competing demands with minimal supervision, and meet deadlines.
- Motivated, self-starter, with strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Oracle and Cognos.
- Experience with Excel advanced functions.
- College level coursework in Accounting.

Hiring Range
$21.50 - $24.25 Per Hour
