Role Summary

The vehicle business strategy and planning group sits within the Programs team to provide business insight and help drive cross functional execution on various key topics. In this position, you will support all consumer vehicle program with a focus on cross program strategy, vehicle profitability and long-term product roadmap and technology. You will work in a small team and interact closely with key stake holders across Rivian. You will work on difficult problems without a clear answer and interact with multiple functions including, engineering, operations, manufacturing, strategy, finance, supply chain, and more.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a plan for profitability for all Rivian vehicle programs including preparing quarterly executive business reviews
  • Develop vehicle business plan for new products and new variants on current product (+2 year from SOP)
  • Execute on ad hoc analysis to support leadership decision making process; transform data into actionable insights and recommendations (value stream mapping, cash cycle, make vs buy etc...)
  • Support and lead cross functional business analysis with complex trade-offs including make vs buy, critical sourcing, supplier re-location, tariff management, etc...
  • Run competitive and benchmarking analysis to set business targets across Rivian including BoM and Non-BoM COGS while working closely with the respective partners to drive execution.
  • Actively and continuously look within Rivian for areas of process, business, and cost improvement, while leveraging and maintaining effective relationships within Rivian including, engineering, supply chain, manufacturing,
  • Define and help maintain the Consumer Program long term planning for manufacturing capacity, sales volume, and cross program propulsion strategy.

Qualifications

  • Passionate about business execution and interest in solving difficult and ambiguous problems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Business or a related field.
  • +5 years of experience in product development or product manufacturing, ideally in the EV industry with propulsion experience (battery and or drive unit)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skill with the ability to process data from multiple sources and build models from the ground up.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a changing and fast paced environment.
  • Technical and business knowledge of EV in general.
  • Strong organizational skills reflecting prioritization with a sense of urgency.

Pay Disclosure

Salary Range Irvine-Based Applicants: $154,000-$192,500 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, and other factors permitted by law).
