In this key role, you'll take the lead in managing facilities across Region A1, ensuring top-tier event setups, exceptional floor care, and smooth daily operations across campus buildings.

Working Hours: 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday
Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and oversee daily operations of the crew to ensure projects are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Direct staff in completing AiM work orders; update statuses and ensure timely progress reporting.
  • Provide regular reports on the condition of assigned buildings and spaces as requested by management.
  • Train staff on safe work practices, assigned tasks, and special projects, including inclement weather responsibilities.
  • Respond to and resolve building emergencies efficiently, ensuring staff handles situations safely and effectively.
  • Inventory, order, and distribute zone supplies through AiM & MarketPlace; ensure accountability and adequate stock levels.
  • Arrange transportation for staff and supplies; ensure timely redistribution of work assignments to cover absenteeism.
  • Report damaged equipment for repair or surplus; manage issue and return of keys according to departmental SOPs.
  • Assign and lead project teams, perform safety briefings, and ensure the successful completion of assigned tasks.
  • Monitor and document injuries or near-miss events; facilitate medical attention and complete required documentation.
  • Assist in creating work assignments and schedules that align with operational needs.
  • Submit recommendations for employee awards or promotions based on performance.
  • Provide assistance to other zones and ensure collaborative efforts align with leadership directives.

Other Responsibilities

  • This is a critical role position and is essential to the operations of the University. The position may be required to work during adverse weather conditions and work even if the University closes. May aid in snow removal as directed by supervisors.
  • This position may involve operating equipment such as auto scrubbers, burnishers, carpet extractors, dry scrub machines, wet/dry vacuums, dehumidifiers, Kaivacs, blowers, and pressure washers.
  • Other tasks and responsibilities may be assigned based on the needs of the organization and evolving priorities.

Qualifications


Minimum Experience/Education
High School Diploma or equivalency and one year of experience in the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Some positions may require Certification or eligibility for Certification.
Other Required Qualifications

  • Working knowledge and experience with various equipment, including auto scrubbers, burnishers, carpet extractors, dry scrub machines, wet/dry vacuums, dehumidifiers, Kaivacs, blowers, pressure washers, and vacuums, as well as the use and application of floor finish strippers and maintainers.
  • Experience utilizing spreadsheets to track completed spaces and manage supply orders.
  • Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds frequently and up to 90 pounds occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisor and the general public.
  • Must be able to follow instructions and other communications regarding assignments and other matters.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within an institutional or commercial cleaning environment.
  • Preferred training includes MarketPlace (Supply Ordering/Req. Mgmt.), inventory management & control, budgeting, Wolf Report, timesheet management, SOP development, data security, phone etiquette, and intermediate proficiency in MS Excel/Google Sheets, MS Word/Google Docs, and MS PowerPoint/Google Slides.

Required License or Certification

  • Valid DL required.
  • Valid NCDL within 60 days of hire, must be maintained.
