Overview: The two primary outcomes of this job are to ensure our business units are interacting with accurate and meaningful data and that our data is captured efficiently. To achieve these two outcomes this role will be working with multiple business units to understand how our data is captured and processed through workflows. Responsibilities include leading the Data Governance team, analyzing and resolving data entry errors, and troubleshooting to find the process creating the errors and resolving it. Developing and maintaining the data governance framework, policies, processes, standards, and roles across all data systems and projects. Responsibilities also include identifying areas where business units can be more efficient in leveraging their internal systems. Individuals in this role will function as the data reviewer on our steering committees for our internal systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Leading the Data Governance team responsible for overseeing data management, data architecture and data
  • Managing workload distribution across all types of work requests (email, phone, meeting, service desk tickets);
  • Prioritizing and executing on internal requests to fix data coming from multiple business units;
  • Participate in Steering Committee meetings as the data review part of the process;
  • Developing and maintaining the data governance framework, policies, processes, standards, and roles across all data systems and projects;
  • Developing and maintaining the repository of systems, objects, fields, forms, and workflows defining the function and dependencies to be used for keeping data clean and accurate going forward;
  • Managing ownership over each key data element within our systems to ensure appropriate business teams are involved in changes;
  • Improving data capture processes to enhance business analysis and decision-making;
  • Improving data accuracy and "tie-out" between financial reporting and accounting systems;
  • Providing clarity to field values, calculations, and reporting to improve internal understanding and enhance customer interaction
  • Gaining knowledge of our end-to-end ecosystem design aligning with best practice and improved interaction with other key systems
  • Collaborating with business process subject matter experts across all departments to develop mechanisms and rulesets to validate the accuracy of data;
  • Maintaining compliance with Inovalon's policies, procedures and mission statement;
  • Adhering to all confidentiality and HIPAA requirements as outlined within Inovalon's Operating Policies and Procedures in all ways and at all times with respect to any aspect of the data handled or services rendered in the undertaking of the position; and
  • Fulfilling those responsibilities and/or duties that may be reasonably provided by Inovalon for the purpose of achieving operational and financial success of the Company.


Job Requirements:



  • Minimum 8 years of related experience;
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing, coaching developing associates in business reporting and data governance;
  • Minimum 4 years of experience with Salesforce or similar CRM system;
  • Experience implementing Data Governance, Data Quality Management, or Business Glossary solutions;
  • Experience defining and implementing Data Governance models based on industry best-practices;
  • Strong project and time management skills;
  • Ability to evaluate processes and drive improvement;
  • Ability to work with cross functional teams, including but not limited to, IT, Sales, Customer Support, Finance;
  • Experience working in a complex, fast paced organization;
  • Experience working with Great Plains, Oracle, Hyperion, and Tableau preferred;
  • Ability to write SQL queries preferred.


Education:



  • BA/BS in computer science, statistics, economics, finance or related field or equivalent relevant experience


Physical Demands and Work Environment:



  • Sedentary work ( i.e. sitting for long periods of time);
  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force;
  • Frequently or constantly to lift, carry push, pull or otherwise move objects and repetitive motions;
  • Subject to inside environmental conditions; and
  • Travel for this position will include less than 5% locally usually for training purposes.
