DSG is seeking a Counter Sales Supervisor in our La Crosse, WI location. In this full time, hourly position, work typically ranges between the hours of 6:30am and 5pm, Monday through Friday, but may vary on occasion according to business needs. As a Counter Sales Supervisor, you will oversee the City Desk counter operations, collaborating with sales teams to provide a superior level of customer service to all customers. - Oversees the City Desk Counter sales operations and associates and ensures that the policies/procedures/standards are carried out consistently.
- Assist customers in a professional manner with product inquiries and writing orders accurately
- Generate customer quotations and follow up on quotes requested
- Provide trouble-shooting and product application assistance to customers and technical support to other associates and customers
- Work with other sales team members to resolve customer service issues in a timely manner
- Restock primary locations in the counter area, sort and place items on racks, shelves or bins according to location, and looking through product for any damage
- Advises manager regarding personnel and/or procedural issues that may need to be addressed.
- Assists with the training of associates.
- Provides feedback to manager regarding associates' performance as it relates to the operations of the Counter Sales, helps coach associates toward better performance, and suggests and helps initiate plans to achieve work goals and objectives.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists associates in solving work related issues. Recommends measures to improve counter operating efficiencies, sales, working conditions and associate performance whenever possible.
- Assists with keeping associates informed and, when appropriate, communicates their ideas and concerns to the manager.
- Promotes and supports the DSG philosophy, vision, objectives and initiatives.
- May fill and deliver orders on occasion.
- Provides customer service including responding to customer questions and concerns (on product
- availability, delivery, pricing, billing, product information and capability, and ability to return product) and to customer complaints (on missing orders, missing items, shipping errors, etc.).
- Acts as primary facilitator for customer ordering process, including processing all types of customer orders, order corrections, responding to open order and back order inquiries, responding to customer requests for product returns, and suggesting changes for improving overall order process. * Identifies and proactively responds to opportunities to promote the sale of additional products during the customer order process
- Continues education on latest improvements/changes on equipment/product or codes through a variety of means (manufacturer schools, trade shows, tech schools, vendor meetings/training, trade journals, etc.).
- Keep City Desk clean and up to date with new product offerings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
A Successful Counter Sales Supervisor Typically Has:
- High School diploma or equivalent, with secondary or post-secondary coursework concentrated in a related field, or equivalent on the job experience as determined by the company.
- Product and technical knowledge normally acquired in two or more years of college or technical school OR 3-5 years field experience in the residential/commercial applications of segment products.
- Physical ability to lift up to 60 lbs. on a regular basis, and up to 100 lbs. on an occasional basis (when counter backup or filling an order).
- Prior computer knowledge, experience, and skills helpful.
- Outstanding interpersonal, customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to develop and support a teamwork environment.
- Ability to plan, prioritize and organize work effectively and to work effectively under pressure and time deadlines.
