Job Summary:
This position will be part of the National Atmospheric Deposition Program (NADP) at the Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene (WSLH). The NADP collects precipitation and other atmospheric samples at over 300 field sampling sites across North America, and is responsible for providing support to maintain sampling equipment across the networks. This position will primarily be responsible for leading field site support for NADP, which includes using existing applications to communicate with sites, troubleshoot equipment issues, create and provide procedural documents, and coordinate the supply of equipment as needed. A strong candidate will be comfortable troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electronic equipment. There will also be a data review component to this position, as knowledge with the program expands. Experience working with large data sets, preferably environmental based, is relevant. Responsibilities: Provides technical expertise in a research, development, or scientific program. Designs, modifies, and adapts equipment to create unique systems in support of research, development, or instruction, involving, but not limited to, the disciplines of electronics, mechanical/thermal systems, optics, and/or computers.
