PUBLIC WORKS LABORER/MOTOR EQUIPMENT OPERATOR The City of Worcester seeks applicants interested in the position of Public Works Laborer/Motor Equipment Operator (when assigned) for the Department of Public Works. Under the Direction of the Division Directors, the positions are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of construction and yard equipment, maintenance and repair tasks, and are assigned to a work crew and to a designated area. If selected to this position, all employees begin as a Public Works Laborer and earn the Laborer hourly rate. When assigned as a Motor Equipment Operator, employees will earn the Motor Equipment Operator hourly rate. Assignment to operate equipment is assigned by seniority. The typical hours are Monday - Friday from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm and may be required to work any 8 hours in a 24 hour period, and work any 5 days of the week. Employees in this position are eligible for overtime, and overtime work is often available. Bilingual candidates encourage to apply. ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS:
