Job Type: Adjunct Staff (Fixed Term)The RAND Corporation is a non-profit research organization providing objective analysis and effective solutions that address the challenges facing the public and private sectors around the world. TheRAND Survey Research Groupis currently hiringField Interviewersfor two projects: LA LEADS projectwill document the effectiveness of the City of Los Angeles' initiatives to reduce homeless encampments in downtown Los Angeles, Hollywood, and Venice. Interviewer teams will approach homeless residents at street locations in Skid-Row, Hollywood, and Venice. Interviewers will conduct counts of unhoused individuals, cars/vans/RVs and tents/encampments. They will locate and approach unhoused people, screen for eligibility, administer informed consent, answer questions, and pass out self-administered paper surveys. Surveys will be conducted in shelters, drop-in centers and public locations including streets, beaches, restaurants, and coffee shops. Work assignments are scheduled and supervised. Hollywood 2.0 projectwill evaluate the effectiveness of a County of Los Angeles Department of Mental Health initiative to increase access to services in Hollywood.Interviewers on Hollywood 2.0 must be bilingualEnglish and Spanish or Farsi or Armenian.Interviewer teams will approach clients at service providers including shelters, drop-in centers and clinics in Hollywood, Lincoln Heights, and Chatsworth. Interviewers will be assigned participants by a team lead and will conduct 45-60 minute interviews on tablet computers and paper booklets in English and Spanish, Farsi, or Armenian. Work assignments are scheduled and supervised. Interviewers will attend bi-weekly meetings by telephone. Positions are part-time, temporary adjunct without benefits, 12-15 hours per week. Expected duration of the projects is May 2025 to September 2026.Pay rate is$23.00-$24.00per hour. LA LEADS Requirements
