POSITION PURPOSE:
- This role supports Essilor Luxottica's Mission of "Helping people see more and be more" by overseeing the activities of the Rx manufacturing departments (Surfacing, Coating, Finishing)
- Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will be responsible for:
- Taking ownership of the manufacturing equipment related to your department
- Improving Rx or Finishing lab processes
- Developing and/or improving Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs)
- Applying Process Control Plans (PCPs)
- Minimize process deviations by developing and reacting to Statistical Process Controls (SPCs)
- Drive action plans that improve quality and efficiency through data mining and applicable analytical tools
- Produce, present,share timely reports of production performance, improvement plans, and results to several levels of organization
- Drive to improvements in work throughput, machine uptime,machine learning,reduction of scrap and breakage,and standard improvement initiatives
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Solve process related production issues, yield performance analysis and drive improvement plans.
- Ensure application of current Standards,PCPs, and SOPs
- Update applicable documents and practices to GLID updates to Standards, PCPs, SOPs
- Conduct and ensure daily PCP checklists and audits are conducted by the production teams
- In partnership with the local production team appropriately document process compliance levels and define process corrective actions as needed
- Support lab operations by being the Subject Matter Expert on relevant processes,products,technology and equipment
- Assess processes, take measurements and interpret data
- Design,run,test and upgrade systems and processes
- Develop and propose best practices, routines and innovative solutions to improve production rates and product quality
- Ensure usage of consumable is in-line with expectation
- Monitor and report consumption of main consumables,ensure the consumables meet their target lifecycles (Lenses/quantity of consumable)
- Have functional/transversal partnership with Lab Operations Manager Department Managers Maintenance Manager Operations Excellence Teams
- Provides technical leadership for manufacturing and translates technical knowledge to functional groups such as quality, manufacturing, maintenanc, training and EH&S
- Implement and monitor relevant KPIs to help the lab's benchmark.
- Main KPIs: Cpk Capability of key parameters,Yields and Reworks reductions, EER main equipment,Consumables reduction,Quality internal breakages
- Always conduct him/herself in a professional manner including interaction and communication with management,peers,associates
- During the week, you specifically arrive at the lab at 7:30am to prepare and attend the production meeting
- Perform other duties as required
- Occasional travel up to 10%
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree or master's degree in industrial engineering,Industrial Technology,Engineering Science,Industrial Manufacturing,Mechanical Engineering,Statistics Mathematics Computer Science Information Technology
- 3 years of experience in Process Engineering and Data Analytics or knowledge management related field.
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent analytical,problem solving and interpersonal skills
- Advanced Excel skills include statistical modeling
- Ophthalmic lab experience and Lean Sigma is a plus
- Interpersonal Manufacturing Engineering, problem solving,MS-excel
- Experience with project management, with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
