Pay Range: $50,000 - $65,000
The pay range is based on consideration of criteria such as required qualifications, experience, education and skills. Marquette Bank reserves the right to offer the selected applicant a salary commensurate with the applicant's qualification, experience, education and skills.
Position Summary:
The Commercial Loan Associate II provides high touch support to commercial clients by serving as the liaison/decision maker between internal contacts such as Loan Operations, Treasury Solutions and Deposit Operations. This position provides key administrative support for Commercial Loan Officers and requires a broad understanding of the requirements for documenting and perfecting Commercial Mortgages, Commercial Loans, and Equipment Finance transactions. This individual will play a key role in deciding the necessary documents to evidence particular terms and conditions of transactions as negotiated by the Commercial Loan Officers including the processing of various Commercial loan files in preparation of loan documentation. This position is responsible for providing superior customer service and support on all aspects of commercial loan/mortgage documentation and servicing decisions with little supervision.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for handling daily customer support requests such as balance inquiries, change of address requests, wire processing, advances, transfers, payments and other loan inquiries.
- Works in liaison with Commercial Loan Officers by answering calls/emails, preparing packages, data entry, tracking vendor invoices, and gathering information to resolve issues.
- Oversees the various stages of loans within the pipeline on the Next Gen system, ensuring that all loans are in their proper stages and within the required timelines.
- Directs the initial loan documentation process by obtaining the appropriate supporting documentation including title work, flood and OFAC searches, insurance, organizational documentation, real estate collateral documentation and various due diligence items to verify compliance with the loan approval and bank closing procedures.
- Manages the loan pipeline and communicates with internal loan operations, credit analysts, lenders, title companies, and attorneys throughout the process.
- Responsible for reviewing the Commercial Loan File for documentation accuracy prior to requesting loan documents for closing.
- Controls the loan closing process, ensuring that all loan documentation is reviewed and received timely. Works directly with the borrower/title company/attorney through the closing process.
- Acts as the Secretary for the Bank Loan Committee, or has the ability to back up current Secretary as necessary.
- Coordinates all requests from Bank examiners and audit staff ensuring that all requested information in regards to credit files is readily available for review.
- Represents the department in a professional manner in all internal committee meetings and informs the department of key issues as they pertain to daily operations and/or procedures of the department.
- Actively complies with all applicable laws and regulations to include the Bank Secrecy Act, the Community Reinvestment Act, and all other deposit, lending, or non-deposit service regulations, adhering to the Bank's internal policies, procedures, and risk management responsibilities contained in the Employee Handbook, the Employee Code of Conduct, and other applicable policies.
Knowledge/Abilities/Experience and Training Required:
- Two-year certificate from college or technical school or two years prior experience with Commercial Lending Business Products preferred including two years' experience with Commercial Loan core systems and Commercial Loan documentation preferred
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common commercial loan and legal documents
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Have a thorough understanding of HMDA and LAR reporting, as well as a knowledge of the NFIP and its relation to Commercial lending
- Professional demeanor and communication skills with the ability to present solutions to common inquiries or complaints from internal and external customers
- Ability to perform in a high volume, stressful environment that works within deadlines
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office including Word and Excel; keyboarding proficiency
- Excellent time management skills
- Exceptional attention to detail skills with an ability to multi-task
- Must be self-motivated and a team player
