GENERAL SUMMARY:

Responsible for ensuring that the organization's technical infrastructure is stable, reliable, and operates efficiently. Responsible for overseeing and installing the deployment of new technology solutions, ensuring the security of the organization's data, and maintaining the integrity of the organization's network. Works within the framework of established operating procedures and in close cooperation with internal and external support personnel. Responsible for installing, supporting, and maintaining servers and other computer systems, while responding to service outages and other problems as they occur. Technical guidance from others on the team may be used, as well as the larger IT teams when appropriate. Works with others within the user community and leadership to identify and resolve system and network problems.



PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

2. *Designs, implements and maintains the organization's technical infrastructure including hardware, software, and networks.

3. *Develops and implements security measures to protect the organization's sensitive data.

4. *Collaborates with other team members and departments to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.

5. *Evaluates, recommends, and deploys new technology solutions that improve the organization's efficiency and productivity.

6. *Monitors system performance and proactively identifies and presents solutions for areas that require improvement.

7. *Develops and maintains system documentation and performs disaster recovery planning.

8. *Participates in on-point rotation with team members.

9. *Administers systems with advanced level proficiency contained within virtualization technologies.

10. *Trains/mentors less experienced team members.

11. Enters restricted access areas, without supervision, to perform assigned work.

12. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.

13. Participates in meetings, committees and department projects as assigned.

14. Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Strong knowledge and experience with networking protocols, LAN/WAN configurations, and network security principles.

2. Expert level knowledge and proficiency with virtualization technologies.

3. Expert knowledge with all relevant technical systems in area of responsibility including the administration, design, configuration and implementation of those systems as appropriate.

4. Strong knowledge of server class hardware and hyper converged solutions.

5. Strong knowledge of network design, IP protocol suite and network devices.

6. Strong knowledge of Thin Client device configuration and management.

7. Strong knowledge of scripting languages/interfaces.

8. Knowledge of computer hardware equipment and software applications relevant to work functions.

9. Ability to execute complex work requiring coordination with other teams.

10. Ability to grasp complex technical and business systems, processes and principles across IT functions and relationships in support of organizational goals.

11. Ability to troubleshoot complex systems with multiple infrastructure layers.

12. Able to work independently to solve or supply solutions within relevant technical systems and architecture.

13. Ability to lead small projects and represent the team on larger initiatives.

14. Ability to recommend, design, and implement plans to improve department level processes.

15. Ability to practice proper body mechanics to ensure personal and customer/patient safety.

16. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

17. Ability to perform crucial conversations with desired outcomes.

18. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of personnel and medical staff.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Associates degree in computer science or ten (10) years of equivalent education and/or experience in a related field required. Completion or substantial progress toward certifications in one or more of the following technologies/areas required: Microsoft ITOps or Cloud Providers certification (Microsoft Azure, Google or AWS). Minimum of five (5) years' recent experience in similar role required. Minimum of ten (10) recent experience preferred. Linux server experience is desirable. VDI, VMWare Server, Nutanix and Citrix XenApp experience and/or certification preferred.



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

(Physical Requirements are based on federal criteria and assigned by Human Resources upon review of the Principal Job Functions.)

(DOT) - Characterized as sedentary work requiring exertion up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.

Travel between campuses, data center and regional facilities expected. Travel percentage is approximately 20%.

Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
