Hours & Pay:

Pay Range: $12 to $18 per hour, depending on experience

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire

About the Role:

As a Medical Biller, you'll be responsible for generating timely insurance claims and patient statements while managing the full revenue cycle-from filing clean claims and working denials to following up on outstanding balances and resolving credit issues. You'll also communicate directly with patients and families regarding financial responsibilities and may assist with pre-authorization of procedures. If you have at least two years of experience in a medical or hospital business office and a working knowledge of automated billing systems, this role is tailor-made for you!

What You'll Be Doing:



  • File Medicare, Medicare HMO, and BCBS claims accurately and on time
  • Review unbilled claims and ensure they meet payer-specific edits
  • Work denials and appeals to recover revenue efficiently
  • Monitor aging reports and follow up on past-due accounts
  • Maintain accurate records on payment policies across third-party and government payers
  • Provide reports and updates to the Business Office Manager as required
  • Answer patient questions and review financial obligations with families
  • Assist in records maintenance, audits, and cross-training as needed



What You Bring to the Table:



  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a hospital or medical office billing environment
  • Experience with automated billing systems
  • Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to work independently
