Job Summary

Barrett Paving Materials is seeking motivated and reliable General Laborers to join our team in the Mid West Central region. The General Laborer will support various construction and paving activities, contributing to the efficient and safe completion of projects. This role is ideal for individuals who are eager to learn and grow within the construction industry.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assist with the preparation and cleanup of job sites, including removing debris, organizing materials, and ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Support equipment operators in tasks such as loading and unloading materials, moving equipment, and providing assistance as needed.
  • Perform various manual labor tasks, including digging, lifting, and carrying materials, as well as mixing and pouring asphalt and concrete.
  • Follow instructions from supervisors and team leads to complete tasks efficiently and safely.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, using personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and report any issues to supervisors.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in the construction field.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in construction or labor-intensive work is a plus but not required.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with coworkers and supervisors.
  • Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
  • Knowledge of basic safety practices and ability to follow safety guidelines.
