Overview

We're seeking a dynamic and innovative Director of Infrastructure Services to lead the strategic direction and operational excellence of our technology infrastructure. This individual will oversee all aspects of our infrastructure environment, including cutting-edge network architecture, voice and video systems, cloud technologies, colocation data centers, and endpoint management. They will ensure these services are reliable, secure, and scalable services that support our growing organization.

As a key member of UW Credit Union's leadership team, the Director of Infrastructure will drive department-level planning, budgeting, and policy creation, while managing a talented and technically strong team that has recently completed a major data center relocation and network transformation.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

Leadership Expectations - 25%

Strategy - 25%

  • Serve as a key member of the Leadership Team, contributing to enterprise-wide strategic planning, annual improvement initiatives, and budgeting and resource allocation.
  • Lead the development and execution of an Infrastructure Services strategy and technology roadmap that aligns with IT and business objectives.
  • Stay current on emerging infrastructure technologies, including cloud platforms, networking, and telecommunications, to drive innovation and future readiness.
  • Build strong cross-functional partnerships and consult with business leaders to deliver infrastructure solutions that support goals, solve challenges, and improve processes.

Delivery - 25%

  • Lead the Infrastructure Services management team in prioritizing work, managing resources, driving operational efficiency, and delivering high-quality infrastructure solutions.
  • Ensure infrastructure policies, procedures, and practices meet regulatory requirements and align with security, compliance, and business continuity standards.
  • Oversee infrastructure quality assurance, including testing, communications, change management controls, and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Direct vendor strategy and relationship management which includes leading evaluations, contract negotiations, performance monitoring, and cost optimization efforts.
  • Ensure accurate technology asset tracking, licensing, and configuration management through effective use of tools like the CMDB, along with structured patch and vulnerability management.
  • Provide strategic oversight of disaster recovery and business continuity planning, including annual testing, DR walkthroughs, and compliance reporting.

Operations - 25%

  • Serve as a senior infrastructure leader and subject matter expert on enterprise initiatives, ensuring seamless coordination of IT resources across business units.
  • Oversee infrastructure security, data backups, and system redundancy to meet established Recovery Time and Recovery Point Objectives (RTO / RPO).
  • Ensure effective change-management practices, vendor performance monitoring, and SLA compliance to support reliable service delivery and infrastructure integrity.
  • Direct the operation and optimization of infrastructure systems, including diagnostics, communications, and network devices, across all UWCU facilities.


Qualifications

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business administration, or related field; relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of education.
  • 10+ years of experience in information technology leadership.
  • Practical experience in system installation, configuration, and integration, including Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Cisco VoIP, Microsoft SQL Server, Virtual Desktops & Servers, and Cloud Infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to manage a large, complex technology environment, including remote locations such as retail branches and administrative sites.
  • Expertise in ITIL frameworks and the implementation and oversight of IT Service Desk, Asset Management, Change Management, and Problem Management functions.
  • Experience supporting audit engagements and resolving findings, along with familiarity using Azure DevOps (ADO) for backlog management, sprint planning, and versioning, preferred.
  • Highly organized with strong project management skills, including the ability to manage interrelated projects and meet both departmental and organizational objectives.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to develop and inspire a vision that aligns with IT and business strategy.
  • Proven ability to build strong partnerships with business units, demonstrating the value of IT and effectively influencing and negotiating in a resource-constrained environment.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and execution skills, with the ability to develop and execute people strategies to engage and optimize talent.
