An innovative and fast-growing company in the Lakewood Ranch area of Florida is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their expanding finance team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute your accounting expertise to help modernize financial operations and support the continued growth of a dynamic organization recognized for its global reach and reputation for excellence. This role has flexibility to follow a hybrid schedule of three days in office, two remote, from the Lakewood Ranch office location.

About the Role

As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards in financial reporting, process efficiency, and compliance with US GAAP. This role plays a key part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records through robust month-end close processes, reconciliations, and reporting. You'll also work closely with leadership to identify process improvements and support audit and tax activities.

Key Responsibilities


  • Prepare and post journal entries as part of the month-end close
  • Manage procedures for accruals, prepaid expenses, intercompany transactions, and allocations
  • Maintain accounting schedules and complete reconciliations for cash, inventory/COGS, fixed assets, and debt
  • Oversee and review the work of staff accountants and AP teams
  • Update and refine month-end close documentation and procedures
  • Collaborate with external tax and audit partners to ensure timely and accurate filings
  • Prepare and review financial statements, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow
  • Perform variance analysis to identify unusual trends or missing activity and follow up on discrepancies


Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • 5+ years of relevant accounting experience
  • Strong experience with general ledger accounting and month-end close
  • Advanced Excel and solid proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word)
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and communication ability
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment with shifting priorities


Preferred:


  • CPA or equivalent certification
  • Experience with inventory accounting and external audits
