Job Summary
The Shop Clerk will play a crucial role in supporting the efficient operation of the shop through a variety of administrative tasks.
Main Responsibilities
- Assist with billing processes and cost coding to ensure the accuracy of financial records.
- Create purchase orders (POs) for parts and supplies as needed.
- Order parts and shop supplies to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Answer the shop phone, responding to inquiries and directing calls appropriately.
- Manage timecard submissions and assist with time tracking.
- Perform data entry tasks in JDE, ensuring all information is accurate and up to date.
- Maintain detailed records of repair orders for tracking and accountability.
- Monitor and report on fuel consumption for efficiency assessments
Skills
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including good grammar, spelling, and proofreading abilities.
- Proactive and able to work independently.
- Detail-oriented with strong numerical accuracy.
- Basic computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work efficiently.
Physical Requirements
- Most work performed in an office environment, quiet to moderate noise level
- Occasionally required to lift and /or move up to 35 pounds
- Regularly required to use hands to move and manipulate objects and operate a computer
- Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear)
- Sitting for long periods at a desk using a computer with intermittent breaks
- Occasionally required to stand and walk, reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; visiting work sites may require walking over uneven terrain and some exposure to dust, chemicals, and loud noise
