Job Title: Quality Assurance Engineer

Type: Full time/Direct Hire

We're looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team and play a pivotal role in upholding and enhancing our quality systems.


About the Role:

As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will partner closely with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to support continuous improvement, resolve complex quality issues, and promote a culture of precision and accountability. Your knowledge of AS9100 standards will help ensure all processes and products meet stringent regulated industry requirements.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Prepare and submit Customer First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) in accordance with AS9102.



  • Review and disposition non-conforming product and lead root cause analysis for DMIRs.



  • Conduct thorough RMA investigations and interface directly with customers to resolve quality issues.



  • Develop and maintain procedures, training documents, and work instructions to ensure standardized, high-quality output.



  • Drive and support Continuous Improvement Initiatives aligned with company quality objectives.



  • Initiate and manage Engineering Change Requests (ECRs).



  • Lead or support Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) efforts with clear documentation and follow-through.



  • Apply statistical analysis and quality tools (e.g., SPC, Pareto, 8D) to drive process improvements.



  • Participate in and lead internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with AS9100 and company QMS.



  • Actively participate in Engineering Design Reviews and review process/engineering documents for accuracy.



  • Visit suppliers and customers to conduct process audits, root cause analysis, and quality support.



  • Promote a clean, organized, and safety-conscious work environment.




Qualifications:

Education & Experience:




  • Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field.



  • 3-5 years of manufacturing experience in a quality-focused role, preferably a regulated industry.



  • Experience with quality systems is a strong plus.




Technical Skills:




  • AS9100 experience required; trained internal auditor strongly preferred.



  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical documentation.



  • Familiarity with root cause analysis, CAPA, and quality tools (5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.).



  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with ERP/MRP and quality management systems a plus.



  • ASQ certifications (CQE, CQA) are a plus.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.



  • Excellent written and verbal communication.



  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.



  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
