Position Summary:

The HR Service Desk (HRSD) Specialist provides initial HR support and guidance to GESMN employees through the HR Service Desk - a centralized function designed to be a single point of entry for HR support. While providing high-level customer service, the HRSD Specialist triages incoming inquiries, works to resolve issues whenever possible, and escalates unresolved questions and concerns to an HR subject matter expert as needed. Additionally, this role contributes to the overall employee experience by providing high-touch onboarding support to hiring managers across the organization.

Day in the life: In a typical day, the HR Service Desk Specialist...



  • HR Service Desk Support: Triages and resolve incoming employee inquiries by utilizing knowledge and available resources in the areas of payroll, benefits, leaves of absence, HR systems, and HR policy/programs while maintaining a high level of customer service.
  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative support within the Employee Experience and broader HR teams.
  • New Hire Onboarding Support: Support leaders in shaping the employee experience by providing high-touch new hire onboarding support to
    hiring managers across the organization.



Job Pay & Perks:



  • Pay range: $27.38 - $37.04 per hour.
  • This is a flexible-hybrid role that must be based in the Twin Cities 7 County Metropolitan Area, whose essential functions allow the employee to primarily work from a personal home office but also require the employee to work at a physical GESMN or partner facility as business needs require, sometimes with great urgency and little notice.

    About You:

    Required Knowledge & Skills:



    • General knowledge of HR functions such as payroll, benefits, leave administration, and HRIS.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and concisely to employees across the organization.
    • Ability to apply HR operations knowledge and judgment to ensure accuracy and completeness of guidance provided.
    • Ability to exercise discretion while handling confidential information.
    • Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
    • High attention to detail.
    • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize demands, and solve problems creatively.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.



    Prior Experience & Education:



    • 1-3 Years of relevant HR experience required.
    • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
