About This Role

The Office of the Registrar seeks to fill an IT Support Specialist II position. This position serves as a primary member of the Academic Technology unit within the Office of the Registrar. This position supports internal office functions and university administrative systems and requires a working knowledge of all areas with the unit; cross-trains with other departmental functions to facilitate support and coverage. This position demonstrates quality service, innovation, creativity, ethical and proactive behavior, and a working knowledge that includes but is not limited to the following areas:

* Class and room scheduling
* Course and Curriculum approval
* Encoding Programs into DARS/uAchieve
* System database architecture and setup, troubleshooting and problem-solving, running batch processes, reporting and analysis, and training users.

Tasks may include coding/encoding, system development, database architecture/configuration and setup, troubleshooting and problem-solving, running batch processes, reporting and system analysis, query creation and data pulls, security, training and help aids, documentation, running integration jobs, and testing upgrades, enhancements, and new features.

Worksite Option

Hybrid eligible. Following a successful probationary period, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work experience allowing up to 3 days remote.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma
  • Two years of relevant experience


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Higher Education/post-secondary experience: two years progressively responsible experience in Enrollment Management (Admissions, Financial Aid, and Registrar) or experiences directly related area of expertise that interacts with the business processes handled by these offices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a highly detailed work environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including an excellent command of the English language, grammar, and syntax.
  • Knowledge of student records maintenance, registration/enrollment processes, degree and graduation processes, and verification procedures.
  • Experience with database creation, support and administration - holding direct responsibility for any behind the scenes coding or structural changes to a system/database structure.
  • Detailed technical knowledge of Student Information Systems platform(s) - i.e. PeopleSoft/Oracle, Imaging (Perceptive/ImageNow); Degree Audit Systems (uAchieve/DARS); Course and Curriculum Systems (Curriculog/Acalog or CAT/CIM); National Student Clearinghouse, etc.....
  • Advanced knowledge of Student Information Systems platform(s) - i.e. PeopleSoft/Oracle, uAchieve/DARS, Imaging (Perceptive/ImageNow), National Student Clearinghouse, etc.....
  • Ability to exercise independent judgement in evaluating situations, making decisions as well as grasp new techniques and updates to products/processes quickly.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including an excellent command of the English language, grammar, and syntax.
  • Experience working with different populations along with providing training and technical development, public speaking, presentations, customer service in higher education related areas.
