Our Garden Segment is seeking a motivated Business Development, Analytics & Operations Intern that will have a role in delivering key analytical and operational responsibilities that position the company to deliver best-in-class key performance metrics. During this internship, the intern will have exposure to several areas within the Central Home Depot Business Development Team (BDT) including Forecasting/Analytics, Reporting, Operations, Sales, and Category Leaders. The tasks and projects provided during this opportunity are designed to further develop core competencies and experience for the candidate within the BDT's cross functional team of professionals.

This position will offer interacting with a highly experienced and dedicated team and a maximum of 40 hours per week in a summer internship.

MEASURES OF SUCCESS

  • Create a project plan, develop, build, pilot and implement new reporting solutions that consolidate and automate current BDT reports and processes
  • Support additional analytical, forecasting and operational activities as needed within the BDT
  • Dive-in and develop curiosity for the "why's" in business
  • Champion innovative ideas and solutions for continuous improvement within the team and for the customer
  • Provide a weekly write-up of events, projects and learnings, required at the end of each week
  • Create and deliver a capstone presentation at the end of the internship showcasing the reporting solution and other analytical and operational learnings

IDEAL CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES

  • Junior or Senior level student working on a BS in Supply Chain, Management or Business Administration degree or a related field
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Demonstrated high proficiency in analytical and critical thinking using facts from large datasets to communicate insights and solutions
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, team-based environment and develop relationships across functional groups
  • High initiative and sense of urgency; self-starter; strong and effective multi-tasker
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
