Minimum Qualifications
Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in exercise physiology, physical education, or related field. Experience in strength and conditioning at the intercollegiate Division I. Either CSCS or CSCCa certification along with CPR certifications; USAW Level I certification. Prior experience with functional movement assessments through Fusionetics and/or Functional Movement Systems ( FMS). VALD and GymAware implementation and interpretation.
Position Summary
Assist the Director of Strength & Conditioning for Olympic Sports in managing all areas of the program and assist with supervising 16000 sq. ft. weight room, interns, graduate assistants and hourly staff. Design, implement and monitor sport specific weight training and conditioning programs for assigned sports. Provide instruction in proper lifting techniques, conditioning modalities, pre-habilitation techniques, and recovery methods. Monitor progress of athletes through computer charting and analysis of daily, monthly, and annual training for assigned sport teams; and counsel.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
Ability to program, implement and monitor sport specific weight training and conditioning programs for assigned sports. Provide instruction in proper and safe lifting techniques with an emphasis on free weight training and Olympic lifting. Expertise in demonstrating and coaching a variety of agility, speed, and conditioning exercises, drills and techniques with student athletes across several sports programs. Provide Fusionetics and Sparta oriented pre-habilitation. Monitor progress of all athletes through computer charting and analysis of daily training; counsel student-athletes in the area of performance enhancement.

Ability to communicate proficiently with individuals within and outside the University by telephone and email. Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks. This position involves knowledge of extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Team Works and Microsoft Outlook, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, good organizational skills and ability to interact with individuals at all levels. Coordinate scheduling; and work well with athletic and university administrative staff. The candidate is expected to have knowledge of NCAA and/or SEC rules and agree to adhere to same.
Physical Demands
Stand; walk; use hands and reach with arms. Sit and talk or hear. Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and assist student athletes during weight training. Close and distance vision, and peripheral vision. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but escalates to high during peak times in the facility.
