As part of the Department of Surgery, the Center for the Future of Surgery is a world-class facility that is advancing surgery techniques by investigating, developing, testing, and teaching procedures that will revolutionize the field of surgery. The goal of the Center for the Future of Surgery (CFS) is to continually improve and expand surgery options using emerging technology so that patients experience less pain and better outcomes. The Staff Research Associate utilizes a wide array of knowledge, technical skills and critical-thinking abilities to facilitate teaching, research projects, and labs in the Center for the Future of Surgery. Duties include, but are not limited to, will set-up and clean up of labs, ordering supplies, operating and maintaining equipment, as liaison with surgeons and industry personnel. Assist in pre-operative, intra-operative and post-operative care of animals. Assist with multiple surgical procedures. Set-up and clean up of equipment and supplies for daily courses. Assist lab attendees on cadaver and animal labs, with and without robotics. Liaise with industry personnel to understand equipment needs and plan labs. The CFS is a team environment and all team members are expected to establish and maintain a positive and cooperative working relationship with surgeons, OR personnel, industry partners, and UCSD peers. Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $60,301 - $97,008 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $28.88 - $46.46 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable). |
