Job Summary The Engineering Manager will oversee the development and maintenance of IBM Mainframe systems ensuring optimal performance and reliability. With a focus on CICS VSAM JCL DB2 and Cobol the role requires a strategic approach to managing projects and teams. Experience in Cards & Payments is beneficial enhancing the ability to drive innovation in financial services. The position is hybrid with occasional travel required. Responsibilities Lead the engineering team in designing developing and maintaining IBM Mainframe systems to ensure high performance and reliability. Oversee the implementation of CICS VSAM JCL DB2 and Cobol technologies to optimize system functionality and efficiency. Provide strategic direction and guidance to the team fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate domain expertise in Cards & Payments enhancing service offerings. Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices to maintain system integrity and security. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance and reduce operational costs. Manage project timelines and deliverables ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer expectations. Facilitate effective communication between stakeholders to ensure project success and customer satisfaction. Develop and implement training programs to enhance team skills and knowledge in IBM Mainframe technologies. Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime and optimize user experience. Evaluate emerging technologies and trends to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement. Coordinate with vendors and partners to ensure seamless integration and support for system enhancements. Prepare and present reports on project progress and system performance to senior management. Qualifications Demonstrate extensive experience in IBM Mainframe Utilities CICS VSAM JCL DB2 and Cobol showcasing technical proficiency. Possess a strong understanding of Cards & Payments domain providing valuable insights into industry trends and practices. Exhibit excellent project management skills with a proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget. Showcase strong analytical and problem-solving abilities enabling effective troubleshooting and system optimization. Display exceptional communication skills facilitating clear and concise interactions with stakeholders and team members. Hold a bachelors degree in computer science engineering or a related field ensuring a solid educational foundation. Maintain a commitment to continuous learning and professional development staying abreast of industry advancements.
