Data Architect Associate | Full Time

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Under the general direction of the Enterprise Data Architect, Data Architecture Manager, or EDW Program Manager: this role will support the design, development, and implementation of scalable data architecture solutions using Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Fabric. The ideal candidate will assist in optimizing data models, building efficient ETL processes, and ensuring data integrity to enhance analytics and reporting capabilities.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Participates in the analysis of business process flows and requirements to implement and support automated solutions that improve efficiency and effectively
    accomplish desired objectives.
  • Design multi-dimensional data structures to support the growth of EDW.
  • Monitors and supports application maintenance and enhancements by performing unit tests, code review and version control.
  • Design the development and maintenance of data standards, policies and practices; in alignment with the solution architecture, to ensure auditability of information assets.
  • Identify and analyze source data (both internal and external) that is necessary to fulfill business intelligence needs; Analyze information to evaluate the effectiveness of controls, determine the accuracy of reports, and monitor the efficiency and security of operations.
  • Design relational models for an ODS, and multidimensional models for an EDW that implements flexible reporting capability in the context of one or more reporting toolsets.
  • Work closely with database administration, ETL, and BI development staff to optimize overall design at an enterprise level; Work closely with data stewards to
    create and maintain records on all data sources used for reporting which may include a data model, associated meta model, common business vocabulary, ontologies and taxonomies.
  • Must communicate clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, Health Care or related field.
  • Technical training in multi-dimensional modeling and data mining/warehousing techniques.
  • Related and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of academic requirements. Related experience is defined as six (6) years of experience in
    multidimensional modeling, or data warehouse architecture.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in multidimensional modeling.
  • Knowledge and understanding of data warehouse architecture, application design, systems engineering, SDLC and integration.
  • Experience with Epic Clarity and Epic Caboodle data models preferred.
  • Expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, including T-SQL, SSIS, and performance tuning
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric, including data integration, real-time analytics, and cloud-based data management.
  • Knowledge of Power BI or other reporting tools is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams that analyze complex data related issues and/or logical data models in support of corporate and customer information systems requirements.
  • Good understanding of methodologies and technologies that depict the flow of data within and between technology systems and business functions/operations.
  • Business analyst skills relevant to communication and analysis functions.
  • ETL development experience relevant to knowledge about information design and compatibility, preferred.
  • Database administration skills relevant to knowledge about conceptual/logical/physical design optimization, preferred.

  • Ability to understand business requirements, translate them into technical designs, deal with complexities of integration of disparate systems, investigate the quality of the data in those systems and put it all together so it can be accessed, manipulated and turned into business intelligence.
  • Technical knowledge, analytical skill, reliability and initiative required to implement quality data warehousing systems and deliver timely and well-organized data intelligence.
  • Ability to collect and prepare data for written and/or oral presentations communicating effectively with all levels of customer and management.
  • Knowledge of Information Services policies, procedures and functions.
  • Knowledge of Healthcare data and business practices and processes to provide appropriate and accurate levels of data intelligence to the business community.
  • Good communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
