Job Description PCC Aerostructures is a leading supplier of complex components and assemblies to the global aerospace industry. Now includes more than 35 plants in the U.S, Europe and Asia with over 5500 employees and has ambitious growth plans. Plant's locations include Washington, Utah, California, Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas, Ohio, Canada, Mexico, the UK, and China. Location Profile: Progressive was founded and incorporated in 1971 in Arlington, Texas. Heroux-Devtek Inc. purchased Progressive in 2004 who helped to expand the site which has doubled its manufacturing footprint and more than doubled sales and employee base. In August 2012, Precision Castparts Corp. (PCC) acquired Progressive. In January 2022 Progressive merged with ADI, Aerospace Dynamics Inc. and now ADI Progressive is one of the largest footprints within the Aerostructures Division of PCC. Predominantly, a provider for large, highly complex machined parts, kits and assemblies for OEMs and large Tier One providers for both military and commercial market segments. Progressive is a 140,000 square foot facility. Position Summary: Level one is an entry level assembly mechanic position requiring significant supervision to perform a variety of entry level assembly tasks. These tasks require basic competencies in determining the right tool for the job, reading technical documents, prints and work instructions, using templates, jigs, and fixtures to execute minor part-fitting operations such as filling, sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, framing, mixing, and using two-part sealants and epoxy, riveting, installing freeze fit bushings, drilling, as well as reaming and counter sinking close tolerance holes. In addition, level one assembly mechanics will use basic hand held measuring tools such as scales, micromoteres, and calipers to verify part dimensions. Reporting Relationships: The Assembler - Level 1 will report to the Operations Supervisor. Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Job Start Readiness Work Instruction Interpretation Clock into Time Sheets Gather Tools & Supplies, knowing which tool to use for each job (Sealants, Hardware, Templates Basic Assembly Tasks & Tools Basic Shop Math Basic Part Fitting Basic Assembly (Riveting, Drilling, Reaming, Counter Sinking, Bushings) Basic Assembly (Installing Bushings) Basic Assembly (Applying Sealants) Basic Rework Tasks Basic PM Tasks (Cleaning, etc) Quality & Productivity Basic Print Reading Basic Part Inspection Common Inspection Tools (Calipers & Mics, Etc.) Meets Daily Production Goals Other duties as assigned Required Skills: Demonstrated mechanical aptitude Ability to learn Ability to read and understand technical drawings after receiving training Punctuality Experience & Education High School Diploma or equivalent 0-1 years of experience Physical Demands & Working Condition May be required to move items up to 35 pounds. Daily duties may require sitting, standing, bending, squatting, reaching, pushing, pulling, operating, and manipulating hand tools. Daily duties may require extended duration of walking. Exposed to a Manufacturing setting with heavy machinery.
