Department Overview

The Corporate Accounting team is responsible for the timely and accurate recording and reporting of financial results in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) requirements. The work is critical to the company's success and provides challenges and variety, including analysis and application of appropriate accounting and disclosure requirements under US GAAP, California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) and Federal Regulatory Commission (FERC) orders, and SEC regulations.

The External Reporting team prepares quarterly and annual financial reports to be filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Federal Regulatory Commission (FERC), and the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC).

The position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned location based on business needs.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of thejob posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will bebased on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience,market value, geographic location, and internal equity.Although we estimatethe successful candidate hiredinto this rolewill beplaced between the entry point and the middle of the range, the decisionwill be made on a case-by-casebasis related tothese factors.

This job is also eligible to participate inPG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs.

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $90,000

Bay Area Maximum: $136,000

Position Summary

Responsible for the preparation and coordination of regulatory and financial reporting filings with the SEC, the FERC, and the CPUC. Also prepares the financial statement reporting for the company's benefit plans, nuclear decommissioning trust, investor relations packages, and other management reports. Additionally, prepares research and policy memos.

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepares 10-Q & 10-K reporting disclosures and supporting workpaper documentation
  • Prepares financial statements and disclosures for various non-SEC reporting requirements (e.g., FERC, CPUC, employee benefit plans, NDT) and supporting workpaper documentation.
  • Interprets data, reports and records for managers/stakeholders, including providing supporting documentation and explanations to internal and external auditors
  • Assists in the implementation of process improvement initiatives undertaken by the department.
  • Prepares and interprets policies, reporting requirements, rules and regulations
  • Identifies issues, proposes solutions, and documents conclusions
  • Interprets data, reports and records for supervisor
  • Provides supporting documentation and explanations to internal and external auditors.
  • Identifies and evaluates accounting issues including preparing documentation, proposing solutions and/or communicates issues
  • Prepares analysis and conclusions of accounting issues
  • Educates the business on accounting topics

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of2 years in accounting

Desired:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the utility industry and working in a regulated environment
  • CPA
  • Demonstrated technical accounting knowledge
  • SEC reporting experience
  • Problem solving with a proven ability in creative thinking and issue resolution
  • Ability to present the rules and regulations for assigned sections in the 10-Q/10-K to department management
  • Ability to use proper analytical techniques to breakdown and solve complex problems
