Sidetrimmer - 2nd Shift

The employee will become part of the Purdy paintbrush manufacturing team in the line-finishing department. Purdy manufactures professional painting tools of the highest quality. This position will be required to side trim assembled paintbrushes.

Additional Information:

2nd Shift: 2:00pm - 10:15pm

Shift Differential: $0.45 per hour

This position is also eligible for bonus based on performance and subject to the terms of the Company's applicable plans.

Job duties include contact with other employees, operating heavy machinery, and access to proprietary information, raw materials, finished merchandise, and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. The Company therefore has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and is necessary to protect the safety of the Company's staff, employees, and vendors.

• Use scanner to scan on and off orders. Input accurate data into scanner
• Stamp the tip of the handle on each brush trimmed
• Comb both sides of each brush
• Trim both sides of each brush per Purdy's quality standards and expectations.
• Inspect the quality of each trim
• Re-trim any brushes that are returned by the inspector
• Use the counter to keep track of brushes trimmed
• Constantly monitor quality of handles, brush heads, and finished brushes
• Remove defective brushes from the order
• Take repairable brushes to rework person and seconds to team manager for review
• Keep work area clean and conduct a final cleaning near the end of each shift
• Print labels for boxing.
• Maintain Accurate Metrics: Units Trimmed, Seconds, etc.
• Utilize basic math, reading, and writing skills
• Communicate effectively
• Work with minimal supervision and ability to effectively manage time to maximize output levels.
• Exercise good judgment in all phases of this operation

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications:

• At least one (1) year of work experience operating machinery in a manufacturing and/or distribution environment
• Experience with fine manipulation (such as sewing, cutting hair or related activities)
• Experience in an environment where you rotated from department to department
• At least one (1) year of work experience monitoring the quality of raw materials and/or finished goods
