Pershing LLC seeks a Vice President, Accounting I for its Jersey City, NJ location. DUTIES: Support a moderately complex legal entity or entities, line of business, country, region or accounting process, as assigned. Coordinate numerous activities from start to close, including consolidations and financial reporting of business outcomes to deliver useable, accurate and timely financial information for the desired period (monthly, quarterly or annually). Complete other assignments, as needed, including standard accounting activities. Provide presentations, information and/or recommendations to senior management, the internal board of directors and regulators, as needed. Support end to end accounting processes and complete research required to transform data into information for reporting purposes. Processing standard general ledger events and transactions, assisting with continuous improvement activities such as the identification and analysis of exceptions, providing support for audits, completing assignments to support the maintenance of the control environment, fulfilling ad hoc requests in accordance with global, regional and country-specific process standards and completing process improvements. Deliver recommendations for use in accounting and financial reporting to senior management and the internal board of directors. Complete special project activities, as assigned. Posting journal entries to the general ledger accounts accurately, completely and in a timely manner. Perform reconciliations of general ledger accounts or other financial data. Identify and escalate issues, as needed. Participate in assignments across lines of business, legal entities, and geographies that have an impact on internal and external reporting, accounting and accounting processes. Provide accounting guidance to relevant stakeholders. Remote work may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in a related finance occupation. Five (5) years of experience must include: Utilizing GAAP accounting and finance concepts and analysis techniques to ensure asset and liability accounts are properly valued and classified on the firm's financial statements; Implementing new or revised accounting process policies and desk-top procedures to provide accurate and timely reporting of financial information; Identifying and reporting risks, patterns, or recurring issues and liaising with the operational departments and technical teams to reach a resolution; Utilizing the firm's Oracle general ledger to review transactions to ensure accuracy of financial data; Utilizing the Blackline reconciliation system to ensure all general ledger accounts are properly validated to third party sources; and Organizing and presenting a monthly review of the overall financial control results to ensure compliance with written supervisory procedures. The base salary/range for this position is expected to be $142,646.00 to $142,646.00 per year at the commencement of employment. Base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the Pershing LLC total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs. This position is at-will, and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors. |
