AI Ecosystem is a new, centralized AI organization designed to deliver a unified AI solution that seamlessly spans Lenovo Intelligent Devices Group devices and segments. We are a diverse, nimble, fast paced team motivated with entrepreneurial spirit. Our talented product and development teams are infused with a deep understanding of the user, work collaboratively and are empowered to move aggressively to create a new era of experiences that seamlessly span a user's wearables, smartphone, tablet, laptop and cloud services.

We are looking to add a Director of User Research and Experience Design to our team that will help us set the path for our next generation of AI-powered experiences by leading the team responsible for capturing and shaping user insights and crafting user centric designs for our AI experiences. For this role we are looking for someone who can move between exploratory research to rapid evaluations of prototyped ideas and work across the organization to deliver UI and UX designs for AI Ecosystem products. Someone who always puts people first and centers their needs, problems, goals, and aspirations for the team. Someone who is energized by direct, tangible product impact.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the behaviors, motivations, needs, and aspirations of our customers to create a differentiated advantage in our ability to build relevant and impactful experiences for global users across consumer, SMB and large scale commercial segments.

  • Help drive product strategy through rigorous programs of user research spanning the entire product lifecycle.

  • Be an advocate and spokesperson for AI Ecosystem Design across IDG.

  • Staff research and design team that corresponds with a fast-paced product and development team.

  • Guide teams in creative new directions and help set ambitious goals.

  • Influence broadly across the organization and from working team to the executive levels.

  • Responsible for UI/UX tied to AI software experiences that span IDG ecosystem of devices and service from Discovery, Concept, POR and Launch.

  • Co-work with Product pods (SW Dev, PDM, PGM, UI, UX) on iterative sprint cycles to create, develop, ship and improve AI products.

  • Evaluate and implement action plans based on ongoing market and user research around usability and discovery improvements.

Basic Qualifications

  • Advanced Degree in Behavioral Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, User Experience Design, or related field

  • 10+ years User Research and/or Design experience.

Proffered Qualifications
  • Excellent communication, presentation, storytelling skills.

  • High level of research skills across qualitative and quantitative methods.

  • Experience building concept and design stories.

  • Experience in interaction design in product or user experience.
