Position Title: Wi-Fi CoE Research Coop

Number of Position(s): 2

Duration: 4 months

Date: September 2025 - December 2025

Location: Onsite in Sunnyvale, CA

EDUCATIONAL RECOMMENDATIONS

Currently a candidate pursuing a Ph.D. or master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field at an accredited U.S. university, with a minimum GPA of 3.0.



  • Address a technical challenge related to Wi-Fi 8 standardization currently being developed in IEEE 802.11bn or as part of Nokia's Wi-Fi 9 research.
  • Research, develop, and evaluate innovative solutions to advance wireless communication standards
  • Collaborate closely with and receive mentorship from an experienced researcher and standardization delegate
  • Contribute to ongoing efforts in shaping the future of Wi-Fi technology through standardization work



  • Familiarity with IEEE 802.11 standard up to IEEE 802.11be
  • Strong programming skills, preferably C++
  • Strong wireless research background either in MAC or PHY
  • Experience with Wi-Fi system and/or link simulations
  • Familiarity with AI/ML tools is a plus
