Production Operators may work in various departments throughout the facility. From the logyard to the finishing department the equipment used may vary but the focus on producing a quality product that meets or exceeds our customer's needs is the expectation.

  • Shift Information: 12-hour rotating shift holidays, weekends and overtime as needed

Our Team

Our Clarendon OSB facility in Alcolu, SC is one of Georgia-Pacific's newest facilities using some of the most advanced technology to create the specialty brand of Blue-Ribbon Oriented Strand Board (OSB). This type of OSB is used for floor, wall, and roof sheathing in residential and light commercial construction applications. What You Will Do

  • Work collaboratively in a team environment to achieve production and safety goals
  • Clean equipment and work area regularly to ensure readiness and safety using a variety of equipment, including air hoses, shovels, rakes, saws, and other tools
  • Operate mobile equipment to include a front-end loader, sweeper, and forklift
  • Learn new tasks (including functions in control cab, control room, and ground support) and become proficient in performing these tasks
  • Operate Control Room panels, displays, and graphics to maintain operations according to parameters
  • Monitor system performance to meet targets
  • Provide ground support for production area
  • Adhere to all plant health, safety, and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures
  • Perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling as needed
  • Maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Two years' or more of experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Experience operating mobile equipment
  • Experience using a computer for basic record-keeping and documentation functions

What Will Put You Ahead

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial equipment
  • Experience operating heavy equipment in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Two years' or more of machine operation experience using an HMI
  • Two years' of more of experience operating a Forklift
  • Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance
  • Forklift Certification
  • Experience working in a lumber or wood-products environment
