POSITION SUMMARY

The Digital Marketing Manager is responsible for leading the strategy, planning, and execution of digital marketing initiatives for pendleton-usa.com. This role drives customer acquisition, engagement, and retention across key digital channels, including paid search, paid social, email, triggered messaging, SMS/MMS, SEO, and on-site conversion tools.

Reporting to the VP of E-Commerce & Digital Marketing, the manager will lead budgeting and forecasting efforts for digital marketing and optimize campaigns in collaboration with internal teams and external agencies. This role works cross-functionally with Merchandising, Creative, and Retail teams to deliver cohesive, high-impact campaigns, with a strong emphasis on performance marketing and customer experience. A core focus will be managing project timelines, translating strategy into actionable plans, and continuously analyzing performance to inform data-driven decisions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

  • Work with cross-functional teams (Merchandising, Planning, Web development, Retail, and Brand/Creative) to support the planning and execution of overall seasonal strategy.
  • Support the VP of e-commerce in building the annual budget and forecast for digital marketing - manage budget and forecast throughout the year.
  • Maintain digital marketing calendar - translating notes and plans into Jira tickets, responding to questions on deliverables, and ensuring smooth flow of projects amongst teams.
  • Ensure proper execution for all paid media such as: email, trigger, SMS, site lead capture, SEO, and other digital channels.
  • Communicate with various agencies ensuring we are executing to hit deadlines and KPIs.
  • Support a data driven strategy - responsible for tracking and reporting of performance for all paid media channels and A/B tests. Support the A/B testing cadence, reporting, and communication of results.
  • Take the lead in testing new channels (Affiliate Networks, etc) with initial set up, monitoring, and analyzing results.
  • Update performance marketing dashboards, compiling metrics and communicating results/insights.

SUPERVISORY AND LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This role will directly manage an Email Marketing Lead resource.
  • This role will significantly contribute to building annual budgets and forecast for digital marketing

CORE SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED FOR THE POSITION

  • Experience planning, building, testing, and launching emails in an enterprise email platform.
  • Experience and proficiency delivering detailed, cohesive creative briefs, and provide meaningful feedback during asset development to ensure requirements are met.
  • Proven ability and experience for pulling and analyzing platform marketing data (for an ecommerce company a plus), and optimizing toward either acquisition or retention goals.
  • Experience and strong interest in staying current on digital marketing best practices and trends, and able to apply to the business and share with broader team.
  • Proven ability to manage relationships and drive processes, even when resources are limited.
  • Experience in apparel, and home furnishings a plus.

SYSTEM & SOFTWARE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in Analytics and Ad Platforms (e.g. Google Ads/Bing Ads, Meta Ads, Pinterest Ads, and GA4) required.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce (SFRA/SFCC) or similar e-Com platform, HTML, Digital design tools a major plus.
  • Experience setting up and reporting on A/B tests.
  • High proficiency with Excel, Google Slides & Microsoft Office (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Tableau).
  • Familiarity with time and project management systems (e.g. slack, Trello, JIRA/Confluence or similar) a plus.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or in a related area of study. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be acceptable.
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role in online retail, wholesale or lead generation.
  • The position also requires a minimum of 1 year in a supervisory role with a full responsibility for Digital Marketing output

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT

  • The ability to use a computer workstation for extended periods of time, sitting, standing, typing, and viewing information on a monitor.
  • Ability to dictate and translate notes and plans into actionable items
  • Ability to provide a detailed visual review of creative content, including graphics, photography, and copy.
  • This position follows an in-office-first policy, requiring a minimum of three days per week onsite at our corporate office in Portland, OR.
