DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The role involves managing the receipt of arthropod sample shipments, which includes organizing samples, transporting them to the laboratory, identifying and logging shipment details, and replacing materials as needed. Responsibilities also entail entering sample identification data-such as locations and dates-into the Vector Management database through a combination of barcode scanning and manual entry, facilitating tracking for both Laboratory and Field staff. Timely organization and storage of samples by Program and priority are essential for easy access by Taxonomy staff for identification purposes.
Regular communication with the Administrative Officer is necessary to review shipments received from the courier service, and collaboration is required to compare courier invoice charges against shipment receipts biweekly to ensure compliance with contract conditions. Additionally, support will be provided to the Taxonomy Supervisor in addressing inquiries from field staff regarding shipment logistics and materials replacement, as well as in identifying, labeling, and recording location information on shipping containers. You will serve as the Laboratory liaison for shipment tracking and sample inventory, engaging in effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders. Finally, assistance will be provided to Laboratory personnel in acquiring materials from inventory, including the preparation of specimen containers.

- Limited Term (6 Month), part-time employment.
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
