THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position you will assist and receive training from professional social services personnel in providing routine services to children, youth, and families and people who are mentally disabled. Your work will involve scheduling, transporting, and escorting clients to medical appointments, foster homes, court hearings, and for recreation purposes. You will also help our clients by providing basic information about our programs and services, contacting clients who miss appointments, performing routine clerical duties for the office, and keeping our waiting and visiting rooms clean and welcoming.

You will also assist clients and families with the everyday activities of living including home maintenance, as well as participate in the distribution and delivery of equipment, clothing, and other belongings of clients. Work also involves supervising children during office visits and in crisis situations in the home. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Graduation from high school; or
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
