Position summary

nVent Hoffman Enclosures is seeking a dynamic and experienced Engineering Manager, NPI and Transformation to lead a team of engineers and designers focused on driving innovation and efficiency within our North American operations. This role will be instrumental in the development and launch of New Product Introductions (NPI), as well as leading strategic transformation initiatives to optimize engineering processes and product development cycles. The successful candidate will possess strong technical leadership, project management, and communication skills, with a proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead the engineering team in aligning and completing NPI projects from concept to launch, ensuring alignment with timelines, budgets, and quality standards
  • Work with multi-functional teams, such as product management, marketing, operations, and sales, to define product requirements and specifications
  • Oversee the design, prototyping, testing, and validation of new products, ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations
  • Lead the transition of new products from engineering to manufacturing, ensuring smooth and efficient production ramp-up
  • Improve efficiency and reduce time-to-market by identifying and implementing standard methodologies for continuous improvement in the NPI process
  • Identify and lead strategic transformation initiatives to optimize engineering processes, tools, and methodologies
  • Implement lean principles and methodologies to drive efficiency and reduce waste in the product development lifecycle
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies and software tools to enhance engineering capabilities and productivity
  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators to track progress and measure the effectiveness of transformation initiatives
  • Nurture a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the engineering team
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of engineers and designers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment
  • Mentor and develop team members, providing opportunities for professional growth and advancement
  • Lead resource allocation and project prioritization for the engineering team
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external partners, including senior management, customers, and suppliers
  • Prepare and present technical reports and presentations to communicate project status and key findings
  • Act as the engineering team's representative in multi-functional meetings and initiatives
  • Manage the engineering budget for assigned projects and initiatives
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in product development and engineering management, preferably in the industrial enclosures or related industry
  • Proven track record of successfully leading NPI projects and driving transformation initiatives
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, design methodologies, and manufacturing processes
  • Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and product lifecycle management (PLM) systems
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., UL, NEMA)
  • Excellent project management, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop engineering teams
  • Experience with sheet metal design and manufacturing is highly desirable

Pay Transparency

nVent's pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee's work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.

Compensation Range:

$105,000.00 - $195,000.00

Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
