DESCRIPTION OF WORK
-
In this role, you will serve as a crew member for the District Line Painting operations with the goal of safely and economically renewing all the District's long lines annually through the efficient use of equipment, line paint and bead materials. Additionally, you will assist with County maintenance operations during the winter season. This will consist of ensuring the safety and smooth operation of our roadways, especially during the challenging winter months when snow plowing becomes essential. Your contributions extend beyond snow removal to encompass work on various construction sites, where your skills directly impact the infrastructure and safety of the traveling public. Each day presents opportunities to tackle manual labor challenges, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and dedication.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment.
- Work hours vary from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM; Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
- Actual hours will vary due to seasonal work and overtime.
- Telework:You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Successful completion of the Transportation Equipment Operator Trainee Program employed by the Commonwealth of PA (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Graduation from a Commercial Driver's License Training School; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License with the Air Brake Restriction (L) removed.
- This position requires possession of a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate in accordance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
Conditions of Employment:
- All employees must obtain an active certification issued by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation in the operation of heavy trucks and loaders, and two additional pieces of construction equipment, within the probationary period.
- Employees may be required to obtain and maintain CDL endorsements and certifications necessary to operate specific pieces of equipment.
- Certain positions require the operation of vehicles or equipment with a manual transmission.
- This position is subject to Drug and Alcohol testing in accordance with Federal Regulations.
