What is the Opportunity?

Support financial performance analysis (IFRS) for US Platforms (all RBC businesses in US) on a monthly basis for US senior management and management committees, including actuals, plan, forecast, by coordinating with various businesses (Capital Markets, CNB, Wealth Management, RBC Bank, etc.) and functions.

What will you do?

  • Develop month end management reporting for US Region Management view including updated forecast for rest of the year, analyzing results and assisting with variance analysis.
  • Develop financial performance analytics for quarterly RIHC Board meetings and partner with various platform finance teams for commentary.
  • Support the production of the annual business plan/ 5 year outlook/ quarterly forecasts and presenting the regional view US CFO /senior management.
  • Provide support to Senior Managers on requests that may range from adhoc projects, management reporting, to data mining.
  • Aide in translating business strategy into the financial Impact, and expected results, which include identifying financial risks and opportunities.
  • Support senior business leaders with financial insights including reviewing financial results, peer comparable, what-If analysis with respect to new initiatives and/or new businesses, and financial Impacts of regional business strategies.
  • Expand US Region Financial Performance Analytics on Revenue drivers by business and Non-Interest Expense base.
  • Produce monthly US Region financial performance package for IHC CEO and other Key Stakeholders.
  • Support implementation of US FPM strategic projects such as integration of PPNR models into annual budgeting/operating plan and 5 year outlook. Partner with stakeholders to automate processes including EPM upload templates.
  • Support business advisory services through US business engagement, management reporting and strategic projects.
    • Partner with the CIB business and CNB, WM and RBC Bank finance teams as a trusted advisor to support growth and strategic initiatives and develop insightful analytics that benefits the businesses and helps senior management to facilitate decision making.
  • Support financial performance analysis (US GAAP) and strategic projects for US Legal entities (including RIHC, CUSO, and CMLLC) and integration of RBC's management reporting framework/system into RBC's Combined US Operations (CUSO) and the Intermediate Holding Company (IHC).
  • Support legal entity forecasting process (both US GAAP and IFRS) to provide critical inputs to US and Head Office Tax teams for tax planning. Partner with Financial Control teams for IHC and CM LLC goodwill impairment analysis by providing critical inputs such as legal entity earnings forecasts.
  • Maintain and enhance US Finance reporting capabilities through automation, EPM enhancements, and development of new analytics.

Basic Qualifications

Previous work experience includes:

  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Financial planning and analysis experience
  • Basic understanding of capital markets and commercial banking
  • Ability to work independently and drive change
  • Financial Statements orientation and comprehension
  • Strong attention to detail

Other Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required, with relevant work experience in Finance

The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $85,000 - $135,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate's experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs.This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
