Primary job responsibilities will include:
- Leads a team responsible for medical capital equipment strategies, negotiations, local and GPO sourcing, critical supplier management, stakeholder support, and biomedical equipment service contracting.
- Develops long-term business strategies aligned with key stakeholders and manage the category initiatives to completion.
- Accountable for leading the Strategic Sourcing Analysts within the medical capital equipment and service team for savings initiative identification and execution.
- Cross functional collaboration with stakeholders to support medical capital equipment and budgetary planning: to include clinical leadership, finance leadership, accounting leadership, biomedical leadership, facilities design and construction leadership, and information systems leadership.
- Works closely with finance in managing large data files to include fiscal year capital budgets.
- Develop negotiation strategies to be used by the medical capital equipment and service team for best quality and financial outcomes.
- Responsible for monitoring, evaluating, and improving supplier performance, developing the supplier base, and conducting research to support the category strategy. Oversight of Supplier business reviews may be necessary.
- Although this is not a supervisory or managerial position, this exempt position is considered a lead role which will drive the medical capital equipment and service team to successful outcomes within their contractual responsibilities delivering exceptional customer service.
- This position will be required to manage the direct contract responsibilities for certain medical capital equipment and service sub-categories/service lines.
- This position has responsibility for managing the medical equipment request intake process and work flows.
- Must deploy professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have advanced MS excel experience to include pivot tables and X and V lookup functions, ability to manage large data files.
- Must be familiar with medical capital equipment negotiations and purchase processing.
- Must be familiar with Supply Chain procurement systems.
- Must possess functional knowledge of all aspects of the procure to pay process.
- Candidate must have strong mathematical, analytical, and reasoning skills.

Qualifications
Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
- Five (5) years or more of progressively responsible purchasing, project management, contract and vendor negotiations, product sourcing and contracting experience in a progressive and complex environment of a multi-hospital setting, or a large hospital.
- Must have a thorough understanding of project management, contract writing, purchasing law, purchasing ethics and healthcare regulations.
- Analytical thinking & proven financial acumen.
- Creating, maintaining and enhancing critical internal stakeholder relationships.
- Drives strategic sourcing and category projects with stakeholders to achieve savings and performance targets.
- Expert at strategic sourcing and supplier negotiations.
Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college.
- Advanced MS excel experience to include pivot tables and X and V lookup functions, ability to manage large data files.
- Familiar with medical capital equipment negotiations and purchase processing.
- Familiar with Supply Chain procurement systems.
- Possess functional knowledge of all aspects of the procure to pay process.
