As a Nokia Channel Partner Resident Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in supporting our partners and ensuring the success of our SDAN and WiFi solutions. This lab-based position offers a dynamic environment where you'll be involved in various aspects of network deployment, from analysis and design to integration and troubleshooting. You'll provide hands-on support to partners, conducting demos, trials, and deployments for end-customers. You'll also be responsible for testing new WiFi and SDAN products, ensuring their seamless integration and performance before they reach customers. This includes conducting comprehensive E2E testing of our Fixed Networks, IP, and Optical products, as well as testing our NIAB BEAD solution. As part of the team, you will do Analysis & High-Level Design, Network Deployment Detailed Design, Network Element Integration and Troubleshooting. Specifically in this lab-based role, you will provide:
- Support for Channel Partners: Deliver SDAN and WiFi demos / trials / deployments to end-customers in support of Partners, assist Partners with delivering these trials, and prepare the FN Network-in-a-Box (NIAB) Kits for specific customer sites.
- WiFi Testing for PLM: Prior to using new Beacon (WiFi Customer Premises Equipment) and Residential Gateway products with customers in their labs and in the field, the Resident Engineer (RE) will test the units as well as work with the R&D and CARE team to debug and resolve issues found in the field.
- SDAN Testing for PLM: Prior to quarterly software releases, the RE would perform End-to-End (E2E) testing of the Fixed Networks, IP and Optical products in the solution with a holistic view as the customer sees it. Toward detecting issues before releasing the software to customers.
- NIAB BEAD (Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment) Solution Testing: Perform bi-annual testing Network Infrastructure E2E solution including IP, Optical and Fixed Access for use in the lab and NIAB Kits.
You have:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science and at least 3 years of practical work experience in Systems Engineering.
- Experience configuring, provisioning or troubleshooting Access Technologies (XGS-PON, SDAN) using CLI or GUI on the devices.
- Solid communication and technical presentation skills with the ability to influence engineers, customers and executives to become advocates of Nokia products and solutions.
It would be nice if you also had:
- Experience troubleshooting and testing container-based issues.
- Knowledge of NETCONF / YANG
- Experience with Access Technologies (GPON, XGS-PON, SDAN), IP, and Optical
- Knowledge of Layer 2/Layer 3 IP protocols, MPLS
- Network engineering and network design experience
