BlueHalo is growing, and we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Senior Manager to oversee the monthly financial close and consolidation reporting for our critical Electronic Warfare business segment. The successful candidate will lead a team of two Senior Accountants and be instrumental in ensuring the accurate and timely reporting of the Electronic Warfare segment's financials for consolidation into the overall company results. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, cost accounting, revenue recognition, and experience with ERP systems, particularly Costpoint and Oracle. The ideal candidate will be located in South Florida or have the ability to travel to South Florida on a regular basis during the initial months to effectively manage the team and processes within the Electronic Warfare segment.

Responsibilities



  • Lead and manage a team responsible for the financial close of the Electronic Warfare business segment.
  • Oversee and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes for the Electronic Warfare segment, ensuring adherence to deadlines and accuracy.
    Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analyses specifically related to the Electronic Warfare segment's operations.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate reporting of the Electronic Warfare segment's financial results in the required format for consolidation into the corporate financial statements.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the Electronic Warfare segment's business operations, cost structure, and revenue streams.
  • Apply principles of cost accounting to analyze and interpret costs within the Electronic Warfare segment, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure accurate revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606 and company policies for the Electronic Warfare segment's contracts.
  • Assist with internal and external audits related to the Electronic Warfare segment and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support business objectives and decision-making.
  • Provide coaching, training, and support to less experienced team members to enhance their technical accounting skills and professional development.


Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • CPA or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
  • Experience with monthly financial close and consolidation reporting.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.



Desired Skills



  • Familiarity with Deltek Costpoint and Oracle ERP systems.
  • Strong technical accounting skills, including knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
  • Experience in the aerospace and defense industry and government contracting and compliance requirements is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and practices.
  • Solid understanding of revenue recognition principles (ASC 606).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication (both written and verbal), and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a team in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.


Location Requirement

Must have the ability to be on location in Sunrise Florida office location on a regular basis (e.g., weekly or bi-weekly) to effectively manage the team and establish processes within the Electronic Warfare segment.
