We are seeking a skilled professional for the Assistant Controller opportunity to join our growing organization. This role will work cross functionally to ensure our accounting processes, procedures, and policies drive excellence in execution of the monthly close process. This position reports directly to the Controller.

Responsibilities:

• Part of a team that manage the General Ledger, and close process across all entities and report consolidated financial statements that are accurate and free of error
• Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analyses
• Develop a strong understanding of the business operations, cost structure, and revenue streams.
• Assist with internal and external audits and ensure compliance with with Generally Accepted Accounting Principals (GAAP) and Government Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
• Maintain an appropriate internal control environment
• Support M&A efforts from due diligence through onboarding and integration as needed.
• Ability to travel to regional offices on as needed basis.
• Collaborate with other departments to support business objectives and decision-making.
• Provide coaching, training, and support to less experienced team members to enhance their technical accounting skills and professional development.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Masters Degree in accounting, finance, or business
• CPA Certification
• Experience with monthly financial close and consolidation reporting.
• 10 + years of experience as an accounting professional with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.

Desired Skills:

• Public Accounting experience with a Big 4 Accounting firm preferred
• Familiarity with Unanet and Oracle ERP systems.
• Strong technical accounting skills, including knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
• Experience in the aerospace and defense industry and government contracting and compliance requirements is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and practices.
• Solid understanding of revenue recognition principles (ASC 606).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Strong leadership, communication (both written and verbal), and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a team in a deadline-driven environment.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.

Location Requirement

• Must be able to be onsite in Arlington Virginia on a regular basis (e.g., weekly or bi-weekly) to effectively manage the team

Salary Range: $169,000 - $215,000
