*Description*
Responsibilities: *Participate in company strategies to develop pricing and earnings models for new products and services, including licensing, leasing, and direct sales models. *Lead the annual budget development, forecasting, and periodic reforecast process, at the corporate and project levels. Brief leadership on key points, metrics and KPIs monthly and provide recommendations for areas of improvement. *Work with the executive team to develop annual bonus plans *Prepare Incurred Cost submissions, corporate tax filings, DCAA and financial audits. *Implement a project control office to better support financial management of billable contracts and pricing support to the Business Development team. *Develop financial tradeoffs for business actions. *Direct contract management and administration. Oversee administration and negotiation of contract awards and modifications for all contract cost types, including cost plus, cost reimbursement, firm-fixed price, fixed price/level-of-effort, and time and materials. *Develop strategies for subcontracts that ensure contract delivery and protect Vertex's interest. *Participate in proposal strategies that consider RFP contracting and pricing instructions and constraints oParticipate in proposal pricing and produce price proposals for government contracts. *Work closely with Program Operations to ensure contractual compliance, and coordinate with government contracting agency to get clarifications or negotiate changes. * *Prepare and update budgets and earnings forecasts. *Analyze and update weekly cash flow forecasts. *Prepare monthly reporting packages and discuss operating results. *Oversee all tax, audit, and financial review activities, interfacing with outside tax, audit, and government agencies, and ensuring timelines are maintained and deadlines are met. *Responsible for development and maintenance of policies, procedures, and internal controls, ensuring compliance with GAAP, DCMA, and DCAA regulations, as well as federal, state, and local laws. *Lead the annual budget development, forecasting, and periodic reforecast process at the corporate and project levels. Accounting and Compliance: *Supervise contract accounting, revenue recognition, invoicing, and cost to complete. *Develop and oversee accounting processes for AP, AR, payroll, and GL functions. *Coordinate month-end and year-end closing, producing detailed reports and analysis. *Perform customer billing and collections. *Serve as audit and review point of contact. *Ensure compliance with federal regulations and contract provisions. Leadership and Management: *Manage remote Finance & Accounting team. *Lead preparation for DCMA Purchasing System Review. *Oversee employee retirement plans and payroll functions. *Manage reporting requirements to financial institutions. *Lead acquisition activities and post-transaction integration. Skills and Educational Requirements: *Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field. *Federal government contracting experience preferred. *Familiarity with Deltek and Unanet software. *Knowledge of GAAP, FAR, and DFARS. *Experience with Costpoint. *DCAA audits. *Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills. *Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills *Skills* Finance, Compliance, DCMA, GAAP, DCAA Regulations *Top Skills Details* Finance,Compliance *Additional Skills & Qualifications* Travel and Citizenship: *Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for a minimum SECRECT and up to TS clearance for access to classified information. *This position may require travel. Applicant must have the ability and willingness to travel on an as-needed basis. *Experience Level* Expert Level *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $185000.00 - $200000.00/yr.
