Acara Solutions is seeking an Sr. Digital Design Engineer to join our client on a Full Time Direct Hire opportunity located in CO Springs CO
Pay Range: $160K - $180k annually
We're seeking a Digital Design Engineer with strong expertise in Design-for-Test (DFT) to lead the design and development of advanced ICs-from architecture through production. You'll guide complex ASIC and SoC projects. The role requires deep knowledge of the full ASIC/SoC design flow, including hands-on experience with RTL to gate-level implementation and DFT integration.
  • Provide technical leadership for digital and mixed-signal ASIC development programs
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define custom ASIC solution architectures
  • Implement digital logic using RTL and logic synthesis techniques (Verilog, VHDL, SystemVerilog)
  • Develop specifications and architectures for complex digital design blocks
  • Apply expert knowledge in Design-for-Test (DFT) methodologies including MBIST, scan insertion, ATPG, boundary scan, and JTAG
  • Lead or contribute to verification efforts using modern techniques such as UVM, assertions, and constrained random testing
  • Interface with physical design teams to support floorplanning, timing closure, and layout/debug of digital blocks
  • Communicate clearly and effectively across cross-functional teams including design, verification, test, and customer-facing teams
  • Contribute to proposal development, including technical strategy and cost/schedule estimation
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (Master's preferred)
  • 10 years minimum of experience in integrated circuit design (or 8+ years with a Master's degree)
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Proven ability to design, verify, and implement digital logic from RTL to final netlist
  • Deep experience with industry-standard EDA tools for synthesis, simulation, verification, and DFT
  • Strong understanding of digital, analog, and mixed-signal integration and test methodologies
  • Ability to decompose complex requirements into a clear execution plan
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills; ability to lead and mentor others
