Velosity Forest Lake is searching for a Secondary Operations Supervisor to support our Forest Lake, MN location on the 3rd shift. This role will supervise and lead assigned shift in Secondary Operations department.

Reporting Relationship:

Reports to: Secondary Operations Manager

Direct Reports: Manufacturing Operators

The typical pay range for this role: $67,219 - $100,828/year.

This pay range reflects the base hourly rate or annual salary for positions within this job grade, based on our market-based pay structures. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as skills, relevant experience, education, internal equity, business needs, and local market conditions. While the full range is shared for transparency, offers are rarely made at the minimum or maximum of the range.

This position includes a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

This is an on-site position supporting our Forest Lake location.

Shift: 3rd shift. Sunday - Thursday, 10:15pm - 7:30am.

Requirements:

  • Preferred 2 year degree in manufacturing with emphasis on supervision.
  • Valid identification and the ability to work legally in the United States
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in assembly manufacturing with1 year supervisory experience in a manufacturing facility preferred.
  • Knowledge of a variety of assembly processes; good understanding of good manufacturing processes. Basic understanding of scales and other required measuring equipment; Understanding of blue print reading

Essential Functions:

  • Lead production operations and team members to produce product right the first time
  • Schedule operators to produce product per the priority levels established by the Master Scheduler including production and engineering setups per plan
  • Address cost drivers (cycle time, scrap rates, labor utilization, and work cell layout) throughout the shift to maximize shift effectiveness
  • Delegate responsibilities to team to produce parts correctly the first time to meet customer quality and delivery expectations
  • Continually develop a cross functional, flexible work force to by conducting and coordinating effective training activities and implementing succession planning to continually improve overall shift bench strength
  • Coordinate with other operations employees, human resources, and associate staffing suppliers to ensure proper onboarding, training, documentation, development, and performance appraisals/decisions are being executed to facility policies and expectations
  • Monitor production operations including box counts and run times to close jobs on time eliminating under/overrun situations
  • Complete all necessary documentation for production during the shift in compliance with GMP standards and internal QMS requirements
  • Drive continual improvement initiatives to improve overall production effectiveness
  • Ensure that all company policies and procedures are being adhered to by employee
  • Ensure safety rules are adhered to by employees
  • Ensure a smooth transition to the next shift by relaying production related information and other information as it pertains to shift, production, or the business as needed
  • Works cooperatively with all employees
  • Other tasks as assigned by supervisor

Physical & Mental Demands:

  • Walking is required within the office/shop areas. Sitting, standing, turning the head and torso, reaching, grasping, bending and flexing the arms, legs, wrists, and fingers are physical requirements. Must have correctable eyesight and good depth perception. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to walk, sit and occasionally climb and balance. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and move objects in a safe manner using proper equipment. Must have dexterity with hands.
  • Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks and complete them within a timely manner; Ability to make decisions with limited information; Ability to work under a high stress level while meeting customer and organizational objectives.

Work Environment:

This is a non-smoking, professional tool shop with normal lighting, and climate control. This position requires the employee to work on a manufacturing floor where they may be subject to airborne contaminants and chemical odors.

Protective Clothing Required:

When in certain locations of the facility, eye and ear protection are required. Closed-toed/ Slip resistant shoes are also required in certain locations.
