The principal accountabilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Provide Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) expertise to upper management with respect to the plant and/or its processes.
- Ensure compliance for the plant and its processes with all Federal, State, and local EHS laws and/or regulations, as well as corporate EHS requirements and guidance. This includes working with State, Federal, and Corporate authorities as required.
- Develop and maintain documented EHSMS plans, programs, procedures, reports, and work instructions to meet legal and other requirements. Including but not limited to the monitoring of emission points, right-to-know and chemical reports, as examples.
- Assist the Human Resource Department with the administration of the worker's compensation program.
- Actively pursue reduction of hazardous materials in the plant and hazardous waste produced by the plant. Seek recycling means, track recycling figures, and reports same, as required.
- Supervise Wastewater Treatment and all waste disposal operations.
- Function as the plant's management representative for the Environment, Health, and Safety Management System, (EHSMS).
- Schedule, administer, and audit practices and records of the facility to ensure compliance of our EHSMS to meet the ISO-14001 Standard, legal, and other requirements.
- Provide technical EHS support and training to all applicable personnel.
- Participate in new product/process reviews for EHS requirements including process hazard analyses, PPE, operator training, environmental concerns, permit requirements, etc.
- Obtain construction and operating permits through State and/or Federal authorities in accordance with applicable regulations.
- Work with engineering and maintenance to help manage facility and machinery maintenance related to the implementation of engineering controls to minimize safety/occupational health hazards and/or environmental risks.
- Promote environmental, health and safety awareness through internal company memoranda, newsletters, and specific training programs.
- Promote continual improvement activities within all departments and throughout the plant.
The principal accountabilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Ensure a high level of internal and external customer service. Investigate (and correct) customer issues and complaints relating to quality.
- Supervise workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure high productivity and high technical integrity.
- Develop and analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and to establish quality and reliability expectancy of finished products.
- Formulate, document and maintain quality control standards and on-going quality control objectives.
- Create, document and implement inspection criteria and procedures.
- Interpret quality assurance philosophy to key personnel within company.
- Provide, and oversee, inspection activity for product throughout production cycle.
- Apply total quality management tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes.
- Interact with vendors to ensure quality of all purchased parts.
- Create and direct environmental test functions and applications.
- Maintain active support role of internal continual improvement teams.
- Design, develop and implement quality assurance training programs.
- Enforce and follow all safety rules and regulations. Immediately report safety deficiencies.
- Promote quality achievement and process improvement throughout the facility.
- Maintain all standard certifications.
- Manage and maintain standard operating procedures, forms, and documentation required with all ISO certifications.
- Manage Quality Assurance (QA) inspection and containment processes for non-conforming product.
- Maintain supplier requirements manual and track vendor compliance.
- Bring together Operation's and QA staff members and drive the group to plan, formulate, and agree on comprehensive quality procedures.
- Use Root Cause analysis and RCCM (Root Cause Countermeasure) techniques to lead root cause analysis investigations for quality issues.
- Use continual improvement techniques and initiatives to improve current quality assurance processes.
- Develop, support and monitor LPA (Layered Process Audits) to ensure production and quality process documentation are being followed.
- Support the development and maintenance of programs to assist in the training of new hire employees.
