The Alaka'ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) has a need for an IT Projects Manager to support a customer out of Maui, Hawai'i.

The IT Projects Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing IT projects within the MBSS IT scope, including core network infrastructure, cybersecurity, VoIP systems, and client systems support. This position ensures that all technical solutions, project tasks, and documentation are aligned with government requirements and delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the full lifecycle of IT projects, including scope definition, scheduling, resource allocation, risk management, and execution.

  • Coordinate with government stakeholders to gather requirements and align deliverables with mission objectives.

  • Prepare technical solutions, site surveys, and documentation for work orders using government platforms like CIPS and EITSM.

  • Track project progress, manage dependencies, and ensure timely delivery of all required deliverables and documentation.

  • Facilitate and support technical meetings, including Configuration Control Boards (CCB), Engineering Change Requests (ECR), and project reviews.

  • Ensure compliance with Air Force cybersecurity standards and ITAM policies in all project implementations.

  • Oversee the implementation of preventive maintenance plans and infrastructure upgrades, including ISP/OSP cabling, server refreshes, and VoIP expansion.

  • Maintain and review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Center Operating Instructions (OIs) related to project execution.

  • Coordinate with network administrators, system administrators, cybersecurity teams, and client systems technicians for cross-functional project execution.

  • Generate Monthly Activity Reports (MARs) capturing all project-related metrics and progress updates

  • Maintain a safe work environment.

  • Mindful to meet deadlines.

  • Ability to write daily correspondence to the government customer.

  • Ability to understand and follow directions.

  • Ability to work cooperatively and safely with others on common projects.

  • Ensure proper documentation and traceability of all project artifacts.

  • Communicate project status and updates to senior leadership and customers.

  • Provide leadership and guidance to technical staff assigned to project tasks.

  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, as well as present SOW to small groups of employees.

  • Supervise employees.

  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Environmental Factors: Works in indoor and outdoor environments that contain excessive heat, cold and humidity, excessive dampness, dust, solvents grease, oils, moving object or vehicles and slippery or uneven surfaces. Routinely will be working at over 10,000ft elevation.

Physical Effort: Frequently lifts items and equipment weighing up to fifty pounds and occasionally over fifty pounds. Standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, and stretching for prolonged periods will be necessary.

REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience managing IT projects in a government or DoD environment.

  • Familiarity with DoD and Air Force regulations, ITAM, and cybersecurity compliance.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification preferred.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Experience with government project management tools such as EITSM, CIPS, and MS Visio.

  • Proficient in working with Microsoft Office Suit (TEAMs, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • U.S. Military experience preferred.

  • Experience supporting IT operations at remote or high-security government facilities.

  • Knowledge of VOIP, server management, network infrastructure, and cybersecurity frameworks.

  • Familiarity with DoD risk management framework (RMF) and compliance processes.

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Project and project tracking systems.

  • Experience working with contract SOWs and deliverables in a federal environment.

REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

  • Must have ability to obtain a TOP SECRET security clearance.
