Description Background Information: Innovative Defense Technologies(IDT), provider of cutting-edge cloud-based integration, automated testing and data analysis for complex, mission-critical systems in the US Department of Defense (DOD), is seeking an IT Engineer to be based in our Arlington, VA office. Leveraging advanced software automation, model-based systems engineering (MBSE), and AI-driven capabilities, IDT accelerates capability development, enhances operational readiness, and reduces lifecycle costs for the Department of Defense. Overview: Innovative Defense Technologies is seeking a self-motivated IT Engineer to manage and maintain critical Windows Server environments, virtualization platforms, and cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate excels in security, automation, and cross-team collaboration in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. All applicants must be able to obtain/maintain an active U.S. Security Clearance. Responsibilities Include: Interact with technical team members from multiple organizations in a collaborative team environment. Provide direct technical support for the planning, design, and implementation of releases, upgrades, and changes to Windows servers, virtual environments, and cloud platforms. Perform workload modeling, prediction, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting to ensure stable and efficient performance of IT systems. Contribute to the improvement of administrative and operational processes through automation and optimization techniques. Maintain clear and up-to-date documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures. Collaborate with network, security, and other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of infrastructure solutions. Act as escalation point for any systems related issues. Monitor system performance, applying regular updates, patches, and backups to maintain system stability and security. Minimum Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or relevant field of Engineering 5 years of experience in a relevant technology field required Required Skills: Proficiency in managing and maintaining Windows Server environments. Experience with VMware vSphere and vCenter. Comprehensive knowledge of Windows domain management. Familiarity with network security practices and protocols. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure. Strong documentation skills for system configurations and processes. Preferred Skills: Experience with NFS, iSCSI, FTP, SSH, SCP, LDAP, BASH, IP, TCP, UDP, NTP, DNS, DHCP Networking experience - TCP/IP, DNS, NetBIOS, switching, routing, VLANs, firewalls Experience with Bash and/or C shell scripting Experience with Dell or HP Servers and NAS Experience with Ansible, Powershell, Chef, Salt, Python, or Puppet experience is a plus VMWare, Red Hat, and/or Cisco certifications highly encouraged Competencies: Ability to create and employ requirements and specifications during development Desire to stay current with industry trends and best practices Excellence in technical oral and written communication with peers and non-technical cohorts Be capable of working independently, but thrive in a team environment Proven ability to work independently and proactively identify solutions. Capable of finding creative solutions to difficult problems Solid analytical abilities, coupled with a strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive Pay Range*: $72,000 - $114,450 or $85,500 - $139,650 This amount may not be reflective of actual compensation that may be earned as pay is dependent on a candidate's experience, skills, and education. The posted range does not include bonuses, commissions, tips, or other benefits. IDT is often looking to place multiple candidates at various levels.
