What we're seeking
We're currently seeking a Food Safety Field Specialist & Trainer as part of our Institutional business group. This is a full-time position working with our food safety auditing programs for retail grocery and food service establishments and training other auditors for onboarding and ongoing calibration activities. This individual will be a skilled and experienced auditor for established regulatory, industry, and customer brand standards for clients around food safety, workplace safety, and facility standards and can assess and train other auditors for standardization and calibration purposes. In addition, this person will create client audit standards manuals to document expectations for each account.

What you'll do
* You will be embedded in our food safety audit team as an expert in field auditing
* You will onboard and train new auditors and focus on constant calibration of existing auditors
* Conduct food safety audits to food safety standards in assigned territory based on location as well as fill in across the US where needed, observing food preparation and facilities to ensure food safety, public health, and sanitation standards are followed. Communicate and suggest corrective actions with site level personnel.
* Shadow other auditors to assess their training needs and assign calibration activities as required.
* Review calibration metrics and follow up with auditors needing training and calibration.
* Develop and edit client audit standards manuals and, if required, produce LMS modules for auditor training and standardization.
* Internal reporting and administrative tasks.

What qualifications we require
* Associate's Degree with a minimum of 5 years' experience with programs for retail food safety and sanitation clients
* Certified Professional - Food Safety (CP-FS) credential from NEHA, or the ability to gain this credential within 6 months from start date (not required if REHS/RS credentialed)
* Valid US driver's license
* Ability to travel within the United States with overnight travel
* Excellent time management, motivation, good communication, and professional demeanor

Additional considerations given
* Registered Sanitarian or equivalent, i.e. REHS/RS credential
* Bachelor's degrees in Food Science, Food and Nutrition, Restaurant Management/Hospitality, Environmental Health, Education, or another relevant subject
* 5+ years in conducting 3rd party food safety audits for retail and foodservice locations
* Bilingual (English / Spanish)
